The work related to job creation and workforce development is led by NMSU’s College of Engineering and Indian Resources Development. The project will build on existing engineering instructional programs related to clean energy, create new curriculum, and work with NMSU branch campuses, community colleges and even high schools to provide educational opportunities and encourage youth to pursue clean energy-related careers. This effort includes special emphasis on working with Native American communities on business development and entrepreneurship.

July 22, 2020 - High school Indigenous students from 11 New Mexico tribes participate in career exploration summer camp enhanced by a grant from the American Indian College Fund.

May 8, 2020 - NMSU to continue Dream Keepers summer experience with virtual format. Dream Keepers Online offers students an opportunity to explore college and career opportunities in a variety of fields including agriculture, natural resources, engineering and business through virtual field trips, virtual campus visits and interactive online activities.

November 17, 2021 - NMSU opens second Indian Resources Development office, offers workshop series
Indian Resources Development at New Mexico State University has expanded its geographical footprint and opened a second office located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Additionally, Indian Resources Development will host a six-week online Extended Season Production Workshop Series on Zoom starting in November. -
July 20, 2021 - NMSU, Navajo Technical University receive grant funds to support Native American students at state’s land-grant institutions
Indian Resources Development at New Mexico State University, in partnership with Navajo Technical University, received a four-year, $250,000 grant from the United States Department of Agriculture’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture to develop experiential learning opportunities to increase retention and graduation of Native American students at New Mexico land-grant institutions. -

International Indigenous Leadership Exchange
In March of 2019, Indian Resources Development and Aggies Go Global partnered to put on the first-ever International Indigenous Leadership Exchange to Guatemala.
They brought 10 Indigenous students from New Mexico State University to Guatemala over a week to exchange with and learn from Maya leaders in the community of Copal AA La Esperanza.
